During the differentiation stage of scale bud and flower bud, the vegetative body of the plant is fully grown, the growth of root system is enhanced, the growth of plant height and leaf area is accelerated, and the accumulation of nutrients increases, which lays a material foundation for the growth of garlic sprouts and bulbs. After the flower bud differentiation ends, the garlic sprouts grow rapidly, the scale buds also begin to expand, the leaf area and plant growth reach the maximum value, and the vegetative growth and reproductive growth go hand in hand. After the garlic sprouts are harvested, a large amount of nutrients are transferred to the bulbs, and the bulbs expand rapidly. After the bulb matures, it enters a physiological dormancy period of more than 2 months
